CVR - Summer Fun Runs & Walks

Tuesdays, 5:30 PM - May to October
Open to All - Runners and Walkers
1-, 2-, 4- and 6-Mile Distances
Montpelier Recreation Path (Off Green Mtn. Drive), Montpelier

Central Vermont Runners spring-summer-fall fun runs are held every Tuesday evening, from early May through late October. Distances are on an out-and-back course of 1 ( in '06), 2, 4 and 6 miles. Runners and walkers are welcome. Children are encouraged to do the 1-mile run, as long as they are accompanied on the run by a responsible adult.

When?
Tuesday evening fun runs start at 5:30 pm sharp. The first official fun run for 2009 will be on May 5, and the last one will be on October 27. (Join us for dinner at Julio's Cantina to celebrate the end of the fun run season after the last October run!)

Fun Runs are generally timed by CVR volunteers, but we cannot guarantee that every Fun Run will be timed. Results of these timed fun runs are usually posted in The World, a free local newspaper.

Where?
Location & Directions: ( in '06) Unless otherwise noted, fun runs begin and end at the Montplier Recreation Path parking lot behind the State of VT Dept. of Labor Building (and adjacent to the Montpelier H.S. track) off of Green Mountain Drive in Montpelier, VT.

 From outside Montpelier on I-89 take exit 8; the first left after the traffic light (for National Life Drive) is Green Mountain Drive. For those not coming by way of I-89, go through downtown Montpelier, and follow signs to I-89. You will eventually be on Memorial Drive. Green Mountain Drive is the first right after passing Montpelier High School on the right.

 The Dept. of Labor is the first gray building on Green Mountain Drive (on the right). Proceed behind the building and through the parking lot all the way until it ends just before the Montpelier Recreation Path.
